If you’re tired of feeling strain or tension in your low back, hips, pelvis or knees, whether it’s recent, chronic, or post-surgery, know that you do not have to suffer any longer if you’re willing to get on the MELT train with emiko as your guide in this Pelvic Stability Series. Each week has a specific focus (see descriptions below) and are designed to build upon one another. Attend all 3 to experience how it all comes together, or register for one or two workshops individually.
WHAT IS PELVIC STABILITY
Pelvic stability means that all the muscles in this region are strong and able to prevent excessive movement from destabilizing the balance of joints in the region, namely the sacroiliac joint, pubic symphysis, and hip joints. Since the pelvis is the anchor of the upper body and spine, a stable pelvis means your spine has stability. When there is a high degree of movement or rapid change in normal movement, or weakening of the pelvis, there is pelvic instability, causing pain around the pelvis, hip, buttocks, low back, groin. It will affect gait and ability to stand on one leg. Weakening of transverse and oblique abdominals, pelvic asymmetry, or misalignment in pelvic joints can also cause pelvic instability.
For these workshops we’ll be using the MELT Hand and Foot Therapy Balls, MELT Full Roller, MELT Half Roller, Long Resistance Band (7-9ft). Please bring your own MELT props and Yoga Mat if you have them, a limited supply is available to borrow.
Buy the MELT Balls HERE and a 9ft Resistance Band HERE.
IMPORTANT: To participate, you must be able to get up and down off the floor on your own.
